SMALL GRANT PROGRAM FOR NEBRASKA MEMBERS OF UNDERREPRESENTED GROUPS IN SCIENCE

Nebraska EPSCoR, under a special grant from the National Science Foundation, is funding a small grant program for enhancing the competitiveness of faculty from underrespresented groups (including women of all ethnicities, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Pacific Islanders) in the fields of science, mathematics, engineering, and technology. Under this program, Nebraska EPSCoR anticipates awarding competitive grants ranging from $1,500 to $3,000 per award. Assistant and associate professors at Nebraska universities who are members of the above underrepresented groups and who are engaged in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology research or research that impacts participation of underrepresented group members are eligible. Awards are based on the extent to which an applicant shows that the grant will increase competitiveness as a researcher. The program is not intended for faculty who are already competitively funded at the national level, nor is it intended to fund international travel. Clinical medicine and production agriculture are excluded since NSF does not support these areas. Grant amounts range from $1500 to $3000.
